Founded by Kerry native April Drew, Drew Media is a publishing and events company based in Limerick. Drew Media specialises in publishing niche wedding titles throughout Ireland and abroad. The company also runs various events including wedding fairs, award ceremonies and prestigious business lunches.
Owner of Drew Media, April Drew, originally hails from Tralee, Co. Kerry but currently lives in Newport, Tipperary with her husband John and three children. The Drew Media offices are located in Castletroy, Limerick.
April, a born entrepreneur, has always been in the business of communication. She graduated Bristol University as an Irish Sign Language Interpreter and after traveling Europe with this career while in her early twenties, April moved stateside to New York and pursued a career in journalism.
During her time in New York April received many accolades including Kerry Woman of the Year from the Kerry Association of New York and an award from the Aisling Irish Community Center for her work in the Irish Community. She also had a day named after her in Yonkers- Oct 9th, 2008 is officially April Drew day!
While working as a journalist with the Irish Voice, April learned how to report on all aspects of the news from politics to entertainment and while doing so had the opportunity to interview some of Ireland's most well known public figures.
After a year reporting April also received a second position within the company as managing editor of another Irish paper, Home and Away and during her nine years working in New York April also took on a part time sales position within the company. From there April armed herself with the skills to start up her own publishing business upon returning to Ireland in 2012.
A year after her return home to Ireland Brides of Limerick magazine was born. A year later Brides of Kerry and in 2015 Ireland's only same sex wedding magazine, Irish LGBT Weddings.
In 2017 April rebranded under Drew Media. Her business is now organising award ceremonies and various wedding events including very successful wedding fairs. She is currently working on three more publications - Brides of Cork, a natural extension of the Brides of .. brand, Weddings in Ireland (for those couples coming from abroad to get married in Ireland) and Holidays with Kids (catering to Irish families who vacation with their kids).
April's passion in life is showing her children the world before they get too old to want to travel with their parents anymore!
